A rover to explore an ancient pyramid
Thanks to a customized robot, an ancient mystery will be explored - live. The so-called "Pyramid rover" will probe the inside of a blocked shaft in the Great Pyramid of Giza, in Egypt.
The robot is about 30cm-long and equiped with four treads. It will carry a fiber optic camera which will allow to see, for the first time ever, inside the Pyramid. Sealed for more than 4,000 years, the shaft could contain "valuable artifacts", according to the archaeologists.
The exploration, conducted by the National Geographic, will be broadcasted live in the US on Monday, September 16.
