A robot will clean the Louvre's Pyramid
The famous glass Pyramid, which stands in the main courtyard of the Louvre in Paris, will be cleaned by a self-propelled robot. The machine will crawl on the sides of the 21m-tall pyramid, designed by I.M. Pei, in a process that will be performed during two days every three weeks, at daylight hours.
The robot is the result of a partnership between an American company, Advanced Robotic Vehicles (ARVI), which will provide all the major components, and a French company, RoboSoft, which will build it.
The robotic cleaning work should begin in February 2003.
